No Half Stitches

I don't see any half stitches. I see 1/4 stitches with back stitching between them. The pink and purple roses are fairly easy to see, but on the yellow ones it is almost impossible. This is the main reason I avoid colored charts. They are much more difficult to read than black and white ones.

I don't get the pattern, are there some half cross stitches in there? There are sometimes 2 different colours in the same square. thanks
